DAMONGO NPP REJECTS REPORT MP DONATED BAGS OF RICE TO YOUTH

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Damongo has rejected social media report that the MP for the constituency, Samuel Abu Jinapor, donated bags of rice to the youth of Busunu in the West Gonja Municipality.
This comes after a video captured some angry youth rejecting some bags of rice alleged to have been sent to them by Mr Jinapor for the celebration of Eid Ul-Adha went viral.
Some of the irate youth were captured in a video chanting “We need jobs, not rice, while reloading the goods back into the truck and ordering the team out of the community.
But the Damongo NPP Chairman, Adam Braimah, in a statement, said the MP only donated to Chief Imams and traditional leaders of the area.
He argues that no youth group has rejected any gift from Mr Jinapor as being purported on both social and mainstream media.
“The MP never donated or offered rice to any youth or youth groups in the constituency and, thus, no such rice could have been rejected. There was, therefore, no such rejection since no youth or group of young persons were given rice, let alone for it to be rejected.
“As is customary across the country during Eid, the festival of sacrifice and generosity, our MP made donations to Imams, Chiefs and Queen Mothers only,” he clarified.
Reacting to the issue on call for the creation of jobs by the youth, Mr Braimah said the Damongo MP, who doubles as Lands and Natural Resources Minister, recognizes a lot more work remains to be done to bring the issue of youth unemployment to a satisfactory situation.
Mr. Briamah also pleaded with the constituency youth to give Mr Jinapor some time to meet that demand.
“Hon. Jinapor remains focused on delivering on his mandate as the representative of the good and dignified people of Damongo Constituency, just as he is committed to continuing to contribute to the government’s efforts in the realization of the aspirations of the Ghanaian people,” he stated.

Damongo Constituency.
New Patriotic Party in the Damongo Constituency’s attention has been drawn to a video which suggest that some youth of Busunu rejected rice from their MP.
Firstly, the MP never donated or offered rice to any youth or youth groups in the constituency and, thus, NO such rice could have been rejected. There was, therefore, no such rejection since no youth or group of young persons were given rice let alone for it to be rejected.
As is customary across the country during Eid, the festival of sacrifice and generosity, our MP made donations to Imams, Chiefs and Queen Mothers only.
While it is a fact that the government of President Akufo-Addo has made significant efforts in resolving the age old youth unemployment issue in our country, Damongo Constituency and Busunu inclusive, Hon. Jinapor recognizes that a lot more work remains to be done to bring the issue of youth unemployment to a satisfactory situation. It will require appreciable time and consistent action as is currently being done.
Hon. Jinapor remains focused on delivering on his mandate as the representative of the good and dignified people of Damongo Constituency, just as he is committed to continue to contribute to government’s efforts in the realization of the aspirations of the Ghanaian people.
Thank you
End.
