University of Ghana suspends exams indefinitely following UTAG strike

Management of the University of Ghana has resolved to put on hold its end-of-semester exams for first and final-year students.

The decision was taken at a meeting held earlier today as lecturers across the country have declared a strike.

UTAG is demanding the implementation of a 2012 Single Spine package which put entry level lecturers on a salary of 2,084 dollars.

In declaring their strike, which took effect on August 2, 2021, UTAG’s National Executive Committee announced that all academic activities were to be suspended including the conduct and supervision of examinations.
