The Electoral Commission of the African University College of Communications (AUCC) Students Representative Council has opened nominations for the election of Executive Officers for the 2021/2022 academic year.
This is to allow prospective candidates to contest in the upcoming Students Representative Council general elections.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the SRC Electoral Commission Manaf Abdullah stated that the nominations which opens on 21st August , at 11:00 am will close on 26th of August, 2021 at 7pm.
According to the statement interested candidates can obtain the nomination forms “from the SRC Electoral Commissions office between 11am & 7pm within the period”.
The statement further observed that “cost of filing nominations for the position of president is GHC 1,000 and GHC 800 for other positions.”
To be eligible to contest in the election, applicants must be students of the University as well as satisfy all requirements under the AUCC SRC constitution.
However, successful applicants will be subjected to vetting by the Electoral Commission after the close of nominations before a final decision is made to determine their eligibility to contest.
