Students of the African University College and Communications will on Friday 3rd September 2021, go to the polls to elect new executives of the Student Representative Council (SRC) for the 2021/2022 academic year.
Over 1,200 students are expected to cast their ballot in this year’s elections which is scheduled to begin at 7am and end at 6pm.
The SRC Electoral Commission postponed the polls which was expected to be held on Tuesday 31st August.2021 after three disqualified aspirants petitioned the Judicial Council challenging their disqualification. The Judicial Council after hearing the matter quashed the petition, paving the way for the Commission to conduct the elections.
The EC which is confident of a successful election on Friday 3rd September, 2021 say balloting has done and the various candidates ready for the polls.
Two main contenders are slugging it out to become the next President of the institution, #TeamSam and #TeamKekeli.
After balloting, Adamtey Foster Kekeli is positioned at number 1 on the ballot paper whilst his main contender Samuel Agyakwa Okodie is positioned number 2 on the ballot paper. The two contenders believe the position on the ballot paper would cushion the student populace make the right choice during the polls. The two are however optimistic of victory in tomorrows elections.
