#AUCCDecides:  Students want violent free polls on 3rd September to elect new SRC executives

Students of the African University College and Communications are asking the Electoral Commission of the Student Representative Council to ensure a violent free polls on 3RD September 2021.

Over 1,200 students will on Friday 3rd September 2021, go to the polls to elect new executives of the Student Representative Council (SRC) for the 2021/2022 academic year.

The students who are poised to elect their leaders say they the elections should be devoid of rancor and must be credible “ I expected nothing but a credible elections. The EC should ensure that a level playing field is create for all candidate in the elections” One student said.

Another student who expressed concerns over the series allegation against the electoral observed that “it would be in the interest of the commission to ensure the elections are fair and credible”.

The electoral commission is expected to open polls at 7 am and close polls at 6pm.

Two main contenders are slugging it out to become the next President of the institution, #TeamSam and #TeamKekeli.

After balloting, Adamtey Foster Kekeli is positioned at number 1 on the ballot papers whilst his main contender Samuel Agyakwa Okodie is positioned number 2 on the ballot paper. The two contenders believe the position on the ballot paper would cushion the student populace make the right choice during the polls. The two are however optimistic of victory in tomorrow’s elections.
