Double track system has not been abolished – Ntim Fordjour

A Deputy Education Minister, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour has clarified that the Double Track system of the Free Senior High School policy has not been completely abolished as purported by some news portals.

According to the Assin South MP, what has been eliminated is the Gold and Green tracks available to SHS 1 and 2 students.

This comes on the back of media reports attributed to Rev Ntim Fordjour in which he announced the suspension of the initiative.

But in a sharp rebuttal, urged the general public to disregard the said publications insisting the double-track system is still in place.

“…… all Form 1 students will go to school as one cohort not divided into two (as was formerly done in Green and Gold Tracks). Similarly, all Form 2 students will go to school as one cohort not divided into two. As more school buildings are completed, the entire school population will report to school at the same time as one cohort as it pertains in Single Track schools,” he clarified in a statement.
